Iran says U.S. security pact would undermine Iraq’s national interests

TEHRAN – In a meeting with former Iraqi Prime Minister Ibrahim Al-Jafari on Monday, Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said that the U.S. security pact would run counter to “Iraq’s national interests”.
“The acceptance of this pact will prevent Iraq from playing a suitable and mighty role in regional and international scenes.”
