Centcom releases Ali al-Dabbagh’s “misunderstood and mistranslated” memo
After Nuri al-Maliki’s interview with Der Spiegel, where he gives support to Obama’s 16-month withdrawal, Ali al-Dabbagh released a statement claiming that the Maliki’s remarks were “misunderstood and mistranslated” and “not conveyed accurately regarding the vision of Senator Barack Obama, U.S. presidential candidate, on the timeframe for U.S. forces withrdrawal from Iraq.”
Interestingly, al-Dabbagh’s statement (presumably an Iraqi government statement) was released by Centcom. See TPM for the whole story.
